FABRIMOUNT is a white, water-based adhesive that is excellent for use in mounting fabric to matboard and liners. It is clean, highly effective, easy to use, and economical. It is also very versatile in that it can be used to mount posters, prints, and canvas transfers.
FABRIMOUNT is best applied with a foam-type paint roller. Please note that we do not recommend the use of any other type of applicator. No brushes are to be used, including foam-type "brushes", and no other type of paint roller will work as well. The foam-type roller makes it possible to attain a consistently uniform coat of adhesive, a very important feature. It also enables you to apply the adhesive quickly, another very important feature. ("Fuzzy" type , paint rollers tend to leave an "orange peel" effect that can be problematic when using a thin fabric. Brushes, on the other hand, are much too slow.) A uniform coat of the type achieved with a foam-type roller has a two- to two-and-a-half minute open time.
This is exactly the right amount of time needed to wrap a mat or a liner efficiently and professionally. Clean-up is simple: Rinse the roller under warm running water until all adhesive is removed.
